The Matthews Family – 2020
In September 2019 representatives of The Jennifer A. Cutler Foundation traveled to central Newfoundland to meet the Matthews family.
Mrs. Matthews, a mom of 2 wonderful girls, has been battling cancer. When facing this difficult time, Mrs. Matthews headed into her journey with positivity and strength. She has inspired not only her family, but the people around her.
The Jennifer A. Cutler Foundation selected the Matthews family to be the second family to go to Walt Disney World, Orlando, Florida.
In January 2020, when the magic kingdom gates opened, the Matthews family began their magical all-exclusive trip to Walt Disney World. For one week they got to explore all four Disney parks, meeting characters, and going on every ride they could. They helped buzz lightyear on his mission to space, explored the wilderness on a safari ride, high fived mickey mouse, met all the princesses while the two daughters became honorary princesses and watched the Happily Ever After show in front of Cinderella’s castle. The best part of it was that they did it all while wearing matching mickey mouse hoodies, and big smiles.
For the Matthews family this was more than a trip. This was an opportunity to spend time together as a family and to leave their worries at home. It was a pleasure working with the Matthews family to plan their adventure. May you enjoy many more wonderful adventures together.
